How much do you cost to hire?
I’d love to give you a price list, but it’s tricky with so many variables in every booking.
The package you’d like, size of the band, travel times to your venue - these are just a few of the things I consider when making an estimation of cost. I offer fair prices, and so you may be pleasantly surprised. Please contact me - I’m very happy to discuss what you’d like and offer suggestions to suit the event or party - and I’ll provide a quotation either on the spot or within 24 hours for your tailor made entertainment.
I've never seen you perform, how do I know you'll be right for my event?
Of course you want to be confident that you book exactly the right entertainment. Please view my video’s, listen to my song list, and read some of the testimonials from previous clients. Also, most of my bookings are from word of mouth recommendations, or from people who have seen my performance at a wedding, event or show.
I hope this will help you to decide that you’ll be making the right choice for your event.
Can I choose the set list?
You are very welcome to choose the genre of your party music, which we will discuss before you make your booking. You can also have a couple of specific requests, for which I would ask for 4 weeks notice in case I need to learn and perfect the songs in time for your party.
Generally though, we choose the set list based on your audience and the event. As professionals, we understand what music works and when to play it for the bast effect. On the night we continually read the room - and our aim is to keep your dance floor full - all night long!
What about the mix of music - some of my guests prefer less modern sounds
The music I sing will range from ballads and swing to 60’s pop right through to present day chart music. I may even do a few Disney / film tunes for the children - it really depends on the people present at your party. I will make sure everyone is happy, from toddlers to teens and disco Dads to elegant Aunts!
How long do you play for?
This will depend on your event and the arrangements you make with me during our planning session. Evening functions are usually it’s around 2 hours performance time. Weddings or other private parties are usually arranged as 2 x 1 sets, and corporate parties are usually in one long after dinner 90 minute set - whatever suits your party on the day.
If you have booked me for your wedding ceremony, it all depends on your ceremony and of course your venue.
If I book one of your band packages, what will the line up be?
The band is personally selected from a small group of professional and experienced musicians, best suited to your event.
I work with a great acoustic guitarist which is a great sound for wedding ceremonies or small cocktail receptions. Or if you prefer - I’ll bring my favourite trumpet or keyboard player - to suit your venue and event.
If you choose to book me with 4 piece musician line up, I’d suggest keyboards, guitar, trumpet and saxophone for the best all round sound.
You can book a full big band which would add drums, bass, 2 trombones, and additional 2 - 3 trumpets and 2 - 3 saxophones. Or anything in between.
Of course, I can also book additional vocals - and work with some of the best in the business!
Once I understand your needs for your party, we’ll discuss your options and together, agree the very best line up.
How do I book?
First, contact me to check my date availability, and then we discuss your ideas.
Once we have agreed your plans, I will provide an estimate, if you are happy with this, two copies of a printed contract / invoice will be sent, which will act as our agreement. The contract will show all the details of your party entertainment. I will ask you to sign both, keep one copy, and return a copy to myself, with a deposit, to secure your booking. Deposits are non refundable.
I will confirm receipt of your booking and book a time with you to confirm all the finer details nearer the date of your event. The balance payment date will be noted on your contract, and will depend on the date of your event.
What if I need to cancel?
Neither party is permitted to cancel once the booking is agreed and contract exchanged (except where Force Majeure applies). Where Force Majeure does not apply a cancellation fee must be paid by the client. Details of these fees are in our terms and conditions that are included in the contract.
Will you bring your own sound and light equipment?
Yes of course - all the equipment we need for your particular booking will be provided. We will however require power! If you are having your event in a marquee, or temporary outbuilding, then we require a power feed of 32 amp supply for sound and lights sole use. Could be on 32 amp C Form/Commando or 13 amp sockets as long as they are not shared with catering equipment.
How much space do you need?
This all depends on the size of the band!
I’m tall but not broad… as a solo performer I’ll fit in anywhere! The full band stage rider info sheet is available for anyone who’d like to check this out.
Do you perform outside if the weather is fine?
We can perform outside, but of course, would need power / amplification for some instruments. You would need to provide suitable power access, together with a canopy / marquee covering for both comfort and safety!
How long does it take for you to set up your equipment?
This depends on the line up. For a solo or acoustic set, about 30 minutes, including a sound check. For a big band, considerably more… we can discuss this when we talk about your plans.
How far are you willing to travel to my event?
My band members and I are quite used to travelling both nationally and internationally. Where do you want us?
Will you be willing to set up early?
For example, what if my wedding breakfast is in the same room as my evening party?
We can set up prior to your wedding breakfast for the party after, but there may be an additional fee. Or we can set up during the space between your wedding breakfast and evening party. It depends on the timing of your day, and of course the arrangements you have with the venue. All these things are thought about beforehand, and we make arrangements to suit you, the venue, and your guests.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible. I have bookings as far as 18 months ahead.
Can you provide recorded music between your live sets?
Yes, for evening bookings, I cover the whole entertainment for you. Included in all my quotes is my recorded party music played via DJ software, through my PA system. We put this on for you before, between, and after live sets, where appropriate. It includes music of all styles - but if you prefer to provide your own party playlist just put it on an iPod, iPhone or mp3 and I’ll play it though my PA system.
I can also provide a live DJ option - there would be an additional fee, please ask me for more information.
